PRINCETON — John Arthur “Poppy” Blair Sr., 52, of Princeton died Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, at his home.

He was born July 19, 1957, in Princeton to William Bernard Sr. and Orcella B. (Morris) Blair.

He had worked at Lay’s Home Furnishing since 1994.

Surviving are three children, Toshia Perkins Blair of Dunlap, Tenn., and John Arthur Blair Jr. and Dean William Blair, both of Princeton; two brothers, William (Brenda) Blair Jr. of Oglesby and Joseph (Rosa) Blair of Wyanet; and one sister, Betty Jean Blair Jones of Wyanet.

He was preceded by his parents and two brothers.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday in the Fiocchi-Jensen Funeral Home, Princeton, with the Rev. Charles Jones of the Assembly of God Church, Watseka, officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Bloom Cemetery, Tiskilwa.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
