MAGNOLIA — Marie R. Clary, 79, of Magnolia died at 11:25 p.m. Monday, Jan. 25, 2010, at Asta Care Center in Toluca.

Born June 3, 1930, in Newaygo, Mich., to Adolph and Rose (Thenekl) Strutzel, she married Orlando "Chet" Clary Aug. 19, 1955, in Las Vegas, Nev. He survives.

She was a postal clerk working in many post offices, the last being in the LaSalle office. She retired May 1, 1991.

Also surviving are one son, Norman O. (Donna) Clary of Streator; one daughter, Yvone A. "Tottie" (Wayne) Mercer of Magnolia; one brother, Junior Adolph (Shirley) Strutzel of Fremont, Mich.; 10 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Calvert & Johnson Memorial Home, Downtown Chapel, Henry. Cremation rites will follow the service. Burial will be at a later date in the Magnolia Cemetery in Magnolia.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.

The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
