Dinner and dance

PRINCETON — The Bureau County American Red Cross will host a Sweetheart dinner and dance Feb. 13 at the Princeton Elks Lodge. Cocktails will be at 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner and dancing at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $50 per couple and can be purchased at the Bureau County Red Cross office, Princeton Chamber office or the Elks Lodge. Annual reunion

Alzheimer’s program

PRINCETON — The Central Illinois Chapter Alzheimer’s Association will introduce a new program, “Reconnect: Interacting with Dementia,” from 1 to 4 p.m. Tuesday at Princeton City Hall. The program, which is free and open to the public, is aimed at improving a caregiver’s overall communication skills when interacting with their loved one who has Alzheimer’s disease. The program, funded, in part, by the Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging, will be presented by Jenna Wachtveitl, program specialist with the Central Illinois Chapter Alzheimer’s Association.

Book fair

BUREAU — Leepertown Elementary will have a scholastic book fair at the school Feb. 8-12. The hours of the fair will be 3:15 to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Wednesdays hours will be 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., during the family reading night program.

Monthly meeting

SPRING VALLEY — The Rice River Boys Club will hold its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Friday. This will be the deadline for 2010 dues. All members are urged to see the newly remodeled clubhouse and greet the new officers for the upcoming year.

Breakfast planned

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Lions Club will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Feb. 14. Tickets are $5 for adults, $3 for children from 6 to 12 and children under 5 are free.
