PRINCETON — Rosalie A. May, 81, of Princeton died Monday, Feb. 1, 2010, at Colonial Rehab and Nursing Center in Princeton.

She was born on May 13, 1928 in Stratford, Iowa, to Harry W. and Ruth (Bjorklund) Anderson. Rosalie married William E. Horan on July 23, 1947. He passed away on February  14, 1976. She then married Lu Verne R. May in 1979. He died in 2003.

She was educated in the Webster City High School and Junior College. She was active in all music programs and 4-H.  Rosalie worked for nine years as the activity director at Prairie View Nursing Home. She also helped in her first husband's T.V. business and she and Lu ran May's Decorating Service. She was an active member of First United Methodist Church and sang in the choir.

Rosalie is survived by her children; Christine (Robert) Grant of Chesterton, Ind., Michael (Debbie) Tamte-Horan of Breingsville, Pa., Diana (David) Specht of Princeton, and James (Frances) Horan of Trabuco Canyon, Calif; 12 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; two stepdaughters; Anita (Lon) Williams of Annawan and Annette Morris of Bowling Green, Ky., and three stepgrandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two brothers, Grant and Willard Anderson, and one granddaughter, Beth Horan. 

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Norberg Memorial Home, the Rev. Dr. James Galbreath and the Rev. Chad Delhotal will officiate. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from  5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be directed to St. Margaret's Hospice.

The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
