DAR meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution will meet at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Prouty Building, 435 S. Main St., Princeton. Susan Gorman, Perry Memorial Hospital, will present the program, “Infectious Diseases.” Hostesses for the day are Lois Peterson, chairman, Jane Lampkin and Connie Schutt.

Book club meeting

PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Feb. 11 in the community meeting room at the library. The group will discuss “Stones From the River” by Ursula Hegi. The staff at the library will be glad to assist anyone in borrowing this book. Anyone is invited to join the group, sponsored by Friends of Princeton Public Library, in discussing this book.

Breakfast, bake sale

LADD — The Ladd Community Improvement Association will host a pancake and sausage breakfast and bake sale on Feb. 28. Breakfast will be served from 8 a.m. to noon at St. Benedict’s Hall in Ladd. Adult donation is $6 and children is $3.50, with children under 3 free. Donations of baked good for the bake sale would be appreciated. Proceeds from the event will be used to support community projects and improvements. The group’s next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at city hall.

Silent auction

LAMOILLE — Noah’s Ark will sponsor a silent auction from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the LaMoille Lion’s Club. The event will also feature an all-you-can-eat spaghetti supper. Tickets for the supper are $6 for adults, $4 for children. Children under 4 are free. The auction will benefit the children of the community.

Red Hats event

PRINCETON — The Princeton Red Hats will celebrate “Be my Red Hats Valentine” at 11 a.m. Saturday the Elks Lodge. Members should bring a candy valentine for everyone.

Genealogy Guild

OTTAWA — The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild will hold its monthly meeting at 1 p.m. Feb. 20 at the Guild Library, 115 W. Glover St. in Ottawa. The speaker will be Charlotte McGrath. The topic is computer tips and skills. Refreshments will be served.

The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
