PRINCETON — Thomas D. Ogaard assumed the position of president and CEO of Princeton National Bancorp, Inc. and Citizens First National Bank effective today, Tuesday. He replaced Tony J. Sorcic, former president/CEO, who retired on Monday. Ogaard joined the company in August 2009 as executive vice president and banking group manager and is currently serving on the board of directors of both the holding company and the bank.

Ogaard has an extensive background with regional and community banks in the Midwest. He started his banking career in 1978 in Minnesota and has worked for both community and regional banks. His supervisory responsibilities have included commercial loans, consumer services, mortgage products, investment products, branch administration and marketing. Just prior to joining the Citizens team, Ogaard was executive vice president and chief loan officer of State Bank of Park Rapids in Park Rapids, Minn.

“Having been with the company since August, I have seen the commitment of both management and staff in offering our customers the highest quality of products and outstanding personalized service which exemplifies what community banking is all about. I am enthusiastic about our future and look forward to carrying on the traditions and core values we’ve had since 1865,” Ogaard said.

Ogaard has a bachelor of science in business administration from Bemidji State University in Bemidji, Minn. Ogaard and his wife, Mary Kay, look forward to continuing their involvement in community activities and helping the worthwhile organizations that serve the area. He is continuing his affiliation with Rotary as a member of the Princeton organization. He has also been active in March of Dimes, Chambers of Commerce, Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Junior Achievement, and has served as a youth baseball, softball and hockey coach and has been an active member of his church.
