PRINCETON — Jill R. Nickelsen, 35, of Wyanet was sentenced to serve two months in the Bureau County Jail after pleading guilty to the Class 4 felony of unlawful use of a debit card.

She entered her guilty plea Jan. 29 before Associate Circuit Judge C.J. Hollerich. In addition to the jail time, Nickelsen was placed on two and one-half years probation with the conditions she pay $235 in court costs and $75 restitution from her bond. She was also ordered to attend counseling and pay a $20 monthly probation fee.

In December 2008, a Princeton woman reported to the Princeton Police Department that her purse was stolen from her place of employment, and her debit card was used without authorization. Upon investigation, the Princeton Police Department determined Nickelsen had used the victim’s debit card to make a purchase on Dec. 20, 2008, at a Princeton business. Nickelsen was indicted on Jan. 9, 2009, and a warrant of arrest was issued. She was arrested in July 2009.
