PRINCETON — Laura M. Simon, 92, of Princeton died Sunday, Feb. 7, 2010, at Liberty Village of Princeton.

Born May 17, 1917, in Princeton to John and Emma (Rosenow) Gross, she married Roger Markley. He preceded her in death. She later married Richard Simon June 22, 1985. He died March 27, 1992.

She graduated from Princeton High School. She was an active member of St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

Surviving are two stepchildren, Mary Chelin of Princeton and David (Karen) Simon of Sycamore; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; four nephews, Don (Sherry) Gross of Arizona, Gary (Joy) Gross of California, Gale (Natalie) Gross of Batavia and John Gross of Wyanet; one niece, Barbara (the late Dick) Gross of Kewanee; and one sister-in-law, Cleona (the late Fred) Gross of Princeton.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and one niece.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Princeton, with the Rev. Jeffery Schlesinger officiating. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. Matthew's Lutheran Church.

The Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton is in charge of arrangements.

The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
