OGLESBY — Illinois Valley Community College instructor Norm Engstrom will present a faculty concert, "Songs I've Never Been Asked to Sing," at 7:30 p.m. Friday in the Cultural Centre.

Engstrom came to IVCC after 25 years of performing professionally in the Chicagoland area in Off-Loop theatres, musicals at Marriott's Lincolnshire Theatre and Candlelight Dinner Playhouse, operettas at Light Opera Works and operas at Chicago Opera Theatre and Lyric Opera Chicago. With bachelors' degrees in music and theatre and a master's degree in acting, Engstrom has worked to perform in a wide variety of musical and theatrical genres. In addition to stage work he has performed in movies, commercials and numerous concerts including a guest artist performance with the Illinois Valley Symphony Orchestra in a program of patriotic music. In addition, Engstrom has studied the specialties of mime and stage combat in England.

Admission is free and open to the public.
