MANLIUS — The Manlius Historical Society met Feb. 15 at the Manlius Village Hall with President Lois Swanson leading the group in the pledge of allegiance and then opening the meeting by asking Kenneth Rodgers for minutes of Nov. 16 meeting and treasurer’s report.

After noting in minutes a reduction of insurance premium of $1,104 down to $1,032, both minutes and treasurer’s report stood as read. Gloria Rasmussen was thinking of contacting AmerinIP about high gas and electric bill. Robert Andersen talked about a conference call to Springfield, along with Kenneth Rodgers, about real estate tax abatement. He reported things went well and another conference call would be made on March 15. Rodgers reported if money was now borrowed from Manlius Banking Center, the rate from now on would be .06 percent. Discussion was held on money-making opportunities, one a drawdown and the other a fish fry. Dates will be set later.

The group’s next meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. Monday at the Manlius Village Hall.
