Gorman presents program to DAR
PRINCETON — Susan Gorman, from Perry Memorial Hospital, presented a program on infectious diseases to the Princeton-Illinois chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution at its February meeting held in the Prouty Building in Princeton. She presented information on the H1N1 flu. After the presentation, members participated in a vaccine clinic.
Regent Eva Blanco led the ritual. Chaplain Lois Peterson held a memorial service for deceased member Virginia Diller, who was a 31-year DAR member. Johanna Kincaid of Knoxville, Iowa, was presented with a 25-DAR membership certificate.
Bonnie Schutt, museum chairman, reported the DAR National Museum is featuring a special exhibit to commemorate the 250th Wedgewood anniversary. Diana WIlliamson, good citizen chairman, announced the Princeton High School DAR Good Citizen winner was chosen as the District II level winner to be represented at the DAR state level.
Delegates to the April 23-25 state conference elected were Eva Blanco, Sharon Bittner and Beverly Larson. Alternates were Patricia Polson, Bonnie Schutt, Carol Arteberry, Dolores Dace, Diana Williamson and Sue May.
The Chapter's bake sale date is set for June 25.
State Regent Luanne Bruckner-Thomson will be with the Chapter at 9:30 a.m. March 27 in the Bureau County Republican Community Room. Members are asked to bring any item with violets for a display honoring the state regent.
