TTT qualifies 12 for sectionals

PEORIA — The Tiger Town Tanglers had a successful showing over the weekend at their IKWF regional tournament in Peoria, with 12 wrestlers advancing to next week’s sectionals in Rock Island.

Claiming regional championship titles for the Tanglers were Peyton Hammerich (Bantam Division), Austin Wetsel (Intermediate 79 pounds), and James Peacock (Senior 122 pounds).

Picking up second-place finishes were silver medal finishers Braden Boyles (Bantam), Tyler Hammitt (Intermediate 84 pounds), Luke Hoffman (Novice 101 pounds), and Caden Brown (Intermediate 52 pounds).

Wrestling their way to third-place honors were Bryce Christiansen (Bantam), Luke Peacock (Bantam), Scott Hoffman (Bantam), Drew Pranka (Novice 108 pounds), and Drake Davis (Novice 79 pounds).

Fourth-place finishers included Tyler Wood (Novice 62 pounds), Joseph Peacock (Intermediate 101 pounds), and Isaiah Taylor (Senior 130 pounds).

Chris Anderson (Senior 115 pounds) finished in fifth place, Colin Rabe (Senior 138 pounds) placed sixth in his bracket.

Qualifying for Saturday’s sectional tournament in Rock Island were Tyler Wood, Austin Wetsel, James Peacock, Tyler Hammitt, Luke Hoffman, Joseph Peacock, Drew Pranka, Drake Davis, Isaiah Taylor, Chris Anderson, Colin Rabe, and Caden Brown.
