Auxiliary workshop
PRINCETON — American Legion Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton will conduct its March veterans workshop at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday at the post home. All members are encouraged to attend and help fill treat sacks for our veterans. For more information, call Clara Pease at (815) 872-0430 in the evenings.

Easter workshop

PJWC story hour
PRINCETON — Princeton Junior Woman’s Club invites children between the ages of 3 and 6 to a library story hour from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Princeton Public Library. The theme for this event is art. Children can listen to a story, make an art project and turn it into a puzzle, and decorate their own cupcake.

Genealogy meeting
OTTAWA — The LaSalle County Genealogy Guild will meet at 1 p.m March 20 at the Guild Library, 115 W. Glover St., Ottawa. The speaker, Larry Pepper of Pepper Photography, will demonstrate digital image restorations. Audience members may bring a photo they wish to have restored.

Book club meeting
PRINCETON — The Princeton Public Library Book Club will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday in the community meeting room at the library. The group will discuss “Still Alice” by Lisa Genova. Anyone is invited to join the group, sponsored by Friends of Princeton Public Library, in discussing this book.

Dinner planned
MALDEN — The Malden United Methodist Church will have a chicken and biscuit dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. March 21. The menu will include creamed chicken and biscuits, vegetable, gelatin salad, dessert and drink. The cost is $6 for adults and $3  for ages 10 and under, $3. Carryouts are available.

Blood drive
PRINCETON— The Mississippi Valley Regional Blood Center will hold a blood drive from 1:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. March 16 in the fourth floor multi-purpose room at Perry Memorial Hospital. Donors who last gave blood on or before Jan. 19 are eligible. A blood donor card or other photo I.D. is required to donate; 16-year-old donors must present a signed parental consent form. Legion meeting
SPRING VALLEY — The Dominic Oberto Post of the American Legion in Spring Valley will hold its regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Club rooms, 307 W. St. Paul St.

Pancake breakfast

LAMOILLE — The LaMoille Lions Club will serve an all-you-can-eat pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m Sunday. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for ages 6 to 10. The Club will participate in Diabetes Awareness Sunday by offering a blood sugar evaluation and a blood pressure reading from 8:30 a.m. to noon. A 12-hour fast is required for the evaluation. The Club is located at 308 Howard St.

Cemetery cleanup
SPRING VALLEY — Spring cleanup and grounds preparation at Valley Memorial Park Cemetery in Spring Valley will begin March 15. All remaining decorations will be removed and disposed of at this time.

Alzheimer’s care session
PERU — Advanced topics in Alzheimer’s care sessions one and three will be held from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. April 14 at Illinois Valley Community Hospital in Peru. There is an $85 registration fee with CEU credits available for an additional $10. The fee is $75 for Central Illinois Chapter support group leaders and those who register by March 31. Support group meeting
PERU — The Fibro/Arthritis Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. March 16 in the fourth floor Conference Room C at Illinois Valley Community Hospital. Dr. John Piano, a local acupuncturist, will demonstrate his techniques on Eastern Methods to help those suffering from firbomyalgia.
