Laura Fredenhagen broke the PHS F/S record in the pole vault with a first place 8-0. C.J. Rhodes winning 5-foot high jump set a PHS meet and personal best. Other top finishes for PHS were seconds by Sarah Maynard in the long jump (15-7 1/2) and Charissa Graham in the pole vault (7-6), thirds by Amber Ruter in the shot put (30-11), Kaitlyn Gorman in the triple jump (27-6 1/2) and the 4x800 relay of Emma Makransky, Linnea Stephens, Allie Youngren and Rhodes with a PHS meet best (10:31.0) and a fourth by Rhodes in the 1600 (6:15.22). Bureau Valley senior Melanie Thompson won the shot put at 35-2 and teammate Natalie Swanson took fourth at 28-8 1/2. The Storm’s Aubrey Franklin took third in the long jump at 15-7, Jessie Jacobson was eighth in the 200 (30.63) and Tanner Wilson eighth in the 400 (1:13.7). Bureau Valley picked up three firsts on the boys’ side, with Adam Sanden in the triple jump (41-6 3/4) and 55 dash (6.74) and Austin Peterson in the high jump (6-0). The Storm’s Ryan Johnson ran down second in the 800 (2:16) and Michael Weidner was runner-up in the shot (46-7). Princeton’s Austin Burrows picked up seconds in the long jump (18-5) and triple jump (40-7 3/4) and James Dove took second in the pole vault (11-6) and fifth in the 400 (56.5). Jacob Robison was fifth in the shot (42-6). • The BV boys returned to Westwood Saturday to compete in the Sauk Valley Invite. Sanden was first in the 200 (24.41), Peterson second in the high jump (6-3), Weidner fourth in the (shot (49-7) and Derrick Johnson fourth in the 800 (2:11.55).
