Puffpaff sentenced on heroin felony

PRINCETON — A Princeton man has been sentenced to prison after pleading guilty to the Class 4 felony of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, heroin.

Gary A. Puffpaff, 38, entered his guilty plea Dec. 17, 2009, before Circuit Judge Marc Bernabei. Puffpaff was sentenced March 5 to two and one-half years in the Illinois Department of Corrections and also ordered to pay fine and court costs totaling $2,000. A charge of delivery of heroin was dismissed.

In the fall of 2008, an Illinois State Police drug task force started an investigation into Puffpaff. On Oct. 12, 2008, Puffpaff was charged with the Class 2 felony of unlawful delivery of a controlled substance, occurring on Sept. 24, 2008, and also with the Class 4 felony of unlawful possession of a controlled substance, occurring on Oct. 12, 2008.

Puffpaff had previously been placed on felony probation in 2009 in Cook County for possession of a controlled substance and for filing a false theft report and felony driving while license revoked in 2003 in DeKalb County.
