Fundraiser planned

PRINCETON — The Princeton Community After School Program will have a Bowling Extravaganza Fundraiser from 3 to 7 p.m. March 20 at Crown Lanes in Princeton. The cost for bowling, which includes shoes, is $4 for one game, $7 for two games and $10 for three games. Program parents are selling raffle tickets for $5. Tickets will also be available the night of the event. The public is invited to attend.

Committee meeting

DEPUE — The  DePue 150th Celebration Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the Water Works Building. Updates of committees will be discussed along with the logo. The celebration will be in July 2011. Anyone interested is welcome to attend this meeting.

Police academy

PRINCETON — The Princeton Police Department Citizen's Police Academy will begin at 6:30 p.m. April 6. The class will meet every Tuesday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. for a 10-week course. Participants will learn different aspects of the police department, including a tour of the police station, a K-9 demonstration, criminal justice systems, community policing, crime scene techniques and a ride-along with a uniformed officer. Angel Food distribution

PRINCETON — Orders for Angel Food distribution for the month of March are due March 17 for distribution on March 27 at Victory Worship Center Church. Place your order at Victory Worship Center, 877 E. Peru St. Office hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday. Food stamps, cash, credit and debit cards will be accepted.

Easter egg hunt

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Metro Center will sponsor a flashlight Easter egg hunt March 27. Kindergarten through third-graders will begin at 6:30 p.m. and fourth- and fifth-graders will begin at 7:30 p.m. Cost is $5. Other activities include egg coloring, snacks, face painting, games and a visit from the Easter bunny.

SPRING VALLEY — An Easter egg hunt will be held at 10 a.m. March 27 in downtown Spring Valley. Candy will be handed out in front of various stores. Face painting will begin at 10 a.m. in the mini-park.

Chicken bingo

PRINCETON — A chicken bingo night will be held March 27 at the Princeton Moose Lodge. There will be a chicken buffet from 5:30 to 8 p.m. followed by chicken bingo from 8 to 9 p.m. and a dance from 9 to 11 p.m. Music by the Generics. Bring the family for great food, a great show and dancing. Everyone is invited.
