Bureau Valley basketball fans didn’t know quite what to expect when their Storm basketball team first advanced to the state tournament at Carver Arena in Peoria 10 years ago this week.

Always having his teaching shoes on, Princeton High School history teacher Eric Tinley was trying to teach his freshmen boys’ basketball team a little school history when he brought up the name of PHS’ most famous player, Joe Ruklick.
The Princeton High School Tigers beat the Rock Falls Rockets Wednesday 66-55 during sectional play at Byron. The Tigers will now play the undefeated Winnebago Indians at 7:30 p.m. Friday for the sectional championship.
